Surf City Nights is much more than your average farmers' market. The weekly event in downtown Huntington Beach also brings in some of the most talented and diverse musicians from across Southern California. Next Tuesday Surf City Nights is featuring the acoustic pop/folk sounds of Rusty Perez.
Perez is a solo singer and songwriter who started his musical journey at the age of six playing in his local church. Since then he has developed a sound that is designed to "lift people's spirits and make people think". With influences such as U2, The Beatles and Switchfoot, Rusty entertains audiences with a variety of covers of popular songs from country to christian and pop to his own original music. His live performances range from oldies to the present, and he enjoys performing music with positive uplifting messages.
What makes Perez more unique is his innate musicianship. He currently has two albums, one of Christmas covers, and another of all original music. Not only are these albums self produced, but Rusty plays most of the instrumentation on each record. To recapture this in a live setting, Perez adds foot percussion, or uses a looper to record guitar and rhythmic accompaniment. Rusty sings and plays guitar and harmonica over these layers of music. This brings an amazing dynamic to his live performance that you don't want to miss, so don't miss Surf City Nights on November 11th and join us for some positive music and vibes after a long day!
Rusty is available for parties, weddings and special events. Find out more at www.rustyperez.com.
