The Sharp twins began their musical journey in Austin, Texas, a city famous for it's art and culture. From a very young age the boys were fascinated with music, citing James Taylor, The Eagles, Sheryl Crow and Shania Twain as early influences. Ben began his love of guitar while Kyle focused on honing his vocal stylings. At age seven, the brothers got their first taste of performance as they were called on stage for an impromptu performance with jazz musician Brian McLeod at Triumph Café in Austin. From that moment on, the Sharp twins knew what they wanted to do, and their love of music was cemented.

In 2009 the boys moved to Laguna Beach. From 2009 through early 2011, they had a few opportunities to showcase our talents in front of large crowds. During the Spring of 2010, they also had the opportunity to perform a 45 minute set at the Sawdust Festival venue in Laguna Beach. As they grew as musicians, Benjamin decided to pick up the piano, adding another dimension to Sharp Turn Ahead's sound. Their sets now include over 80 songs, with covers from Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, OneRepublic, Coldplay, The Beatles, The Eagles, Credence Clearwater Revival, as well as originals written by the boys.

Since 2012 the Sharp's have been busy, playing over 80 shows including: Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach at the Sawdust Festival, “December Nights” at Balboa Park in San Diego, at the Orange County and San Diego Fairs, and even headlining at Knott’s Berry Farm on New Years’ Eve 2013/2014.

Sharp Turn Ahead has released their first original song, titled “California Ain’t That Far”, which is available for download on iTunes, CD Baby, Amazon mp3 and other digital download sites. Far from your typical pop group, the boys inject a heartfelt harmony and a musical prowess into their music that makes Sharp Turn Ahead a group that you don't want to miss. Be sure to catch their set tonight at Surf City Nights!
