Nightmare On Mainstreet

Get ready for the ghosts, ghouls, goblins, and most likely a lot of Princess Eva’s if we were to guess. Yes, Halloween is just around the corner, and conveniently, so is the party!

Huntington Beach is already getting excited for the end of the month’s masquerade with super heroes and villains dressing up and putting on a show at the Strand every Tuesday night at Surf City Nights Farmer’s Market and Street Fair, you just missed Batman, Robin and the Joker only two night ago!

Haven’t carved your pumpkin yet? No problem. The city also has a Halloween Pumpkin Carving and Costume Event held on the Saturday before Halloween, October 25th and the City Gym. This event only costs $15.00 per family; which gets your family 1 pumpkin and 1 carving kit, and additional pumpkins are only $5 bucks. Come dressed to kill and get ready to make a scary or silly Jack-o-lantern with you friends and family. The carving and costume contest event goes on from 6-8pm on Saturday. To register, visit the City Gym & Pool or contact Rob Frizzelle via phone at (714) 960-8884 or email gro.bh-yticfrus|ellezzirFR#gro.bh-yticfrus|ellezzirFR.

The big bash though is Friday, October 31st, on Halloween evening. Now, don’t be scared Surf City, the Annual Downtown Halloween on Main Street Event is safe, free, and full of fun for all. The event takes place in the middle of downtown HB, on Main and 5th and on Olive to Walnut Street. This small area will all be closed off to cars and traffic so all of HB youngsters will have a place to enjoy the festivities. The event, as stated before, is free to the public and all ages are welcome to join! The event includes a fun surf city atmosphere with thousands of pounds of candy that each and every business has been equipped with prior to the event and is ready to hand out to all the trick or treaters. You will also see locals dressed up, bouncy houseson the street, petting zoos, fun food vendors on every corner and costume contests for kids and dogs too! The Fire Department even parks one of their trucks out for the public so kids can explore inside and maybe even see Smoky the Bear or McGruff the Crime Dog giving out candy.

This spooktacular event is sure to leave a smile on you and your kids faces and plenty of candy in your pockets and pillowcases. If you have never been, be sure to check it out this year! Below is a small event schedule for the haunted night:
